About Chairman SULEIMAN
Michael Suleiman is a dedicated public servant who puts the needs of the community above his own. For five years, Suleiman has worked as a trusted aide and advisor to State Senator Jim Whelan, crafting public policy that benefits New Jersey’s middle-class and seniors. He also helps residents cut through bureaucratic red tape in Trenton so they can get the help they need more quickly. In 2013, Suleiman was named one of our region’s “Top 40 Under 40” by Atlantic City Weekly. He is a member of the Stockton University Veterans Advisory Board and previously served on the Galloway Township Superintendent’s Advisory Team, acting as a liaison between the school district and the community at-large.
Suleiman has been involved in the Democratic Party since he was a teenager, using his enthusiasm and people skills to rejuvenate the Democratic Party in Galloway Township and Atlantic County. Under his leadership, the Galloway-Port Republic Democratic Club saw unprecedented growth in membership and fundraising. In 2012, Suleiman served as a delegate to the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte. He was elected to his first term as county chairman in June 2016.
Suleiman graduated magna cum laude from Rutgers University and obtained a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Pennsylvania’s Fels Institute of Government. He lives in Galloway Township.
