Atlantic Democrats Uncover Voter Intimidation Tactics in Atlantic City
(ATLANTIC CITY) After complaints of voter intimidation in Atlantic City, Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman directed the party’s legal counsel to send a cease and desist letter to so-called “investigators” who have systematically accosted members of the South Asian community in Atlantic City for “voter fraud.”
“I thought we turned the page on this chapter of Atlantic City history after Craig Callaway was sentenced to two years in federal prison,” said Atlantic County Democratic Chairman Michael Suleiman. “Unfortunately, elements in the Atlantic County Republican Party feel emboldened to intimidate and threaten anyone who doesn’t go along with them.”
The Atlantic County Democratic Committee has been provided Ring doorbell footage, text message exchanges, and phone call recordings of private investigators linked to a firm in Galloway Township that is run by Patrick Hurley, a MAGA Republican with ties to the Republican County Sheriff.
“We’ve led the state in stamping out voter fraud, and we are not going to tolerate voter intimidation, either,” said Suleiman. “At a time when President Trump stokes xenophobia and hate, systematically targeting South Asian-Americans because of their ethnicity is disgusting and has no place in Atlantic County. This has the Atlantic County Republicans’ fingerprints all over it, and if these individuals continue their dirty tactics, we won’t hesitate to haul them into court.”
